Vines To Mountains
Did you know that Rawnsley Park Station has a sister property located in the beautiful Barossa Valley? By combining stays at Barossa Shiraz Estate with a stay at Rawnsley Park Station, you will go home having ticked off two amazing adventures on your bucket list.
Start your holiday with two nights at Barossa Shiraz Estate. We have delightful cosy one-bedroom cottages situated in the heart of the valley with views across the vines, perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Continental breakfast provisions are provided on arrival in your cottage. On day one of your adventure, we recommend taking the scenic route. Click here for some inspiration on where to stop as you journey out from Adelaide.
On day two, we include a private day tour exploring the Barossa Valley. Your chance to explore cellar doors and boutique local produce stores all safe in the knowledge that you have someone to take care of the driving, parking and navigation. Be sure to let us know if you have any specific requests so the guide can create the perfect itinerary for you.
On day three, take a change of scenery and head north to Rawnsley Park Station where you will enjoy two nights in an Eco Villa. With Advanced Ecotourism Accreditation, these villas are designed to complement the natural environment and be energy efficient. The villas are idea for couples and are full self-contained with spacious living and dining areas, private balconies to enjoy the views and separate bedrooms with over-bed skylights to watch the Milky Way as you drift off to sleep.
As you head north from the Barossa, we recommend the following stops: Sevenhill Winery, the first winery ever built in the Clare Valley, then onto lunch at Mr Mick’s in Clare. After lunch continue onto Jamestown and Orroroo. Perhaps a coffee at Orroroo and a stop at Magnetic Hill and the Giant Red Gumtree before beginning the final leg of the journey to Rawnsley Park. If time permits, stop at the Jeff Morgan Gallery in Hawker.
On day four, we include a full day small group tour exploring the highlights of the Flinders Ranges. You will depart Rawnsley Station accommodation at 8.30am and travel through the Ranges stopping at Cazneaux tree, then onto Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges discovering the story of life on earth and hopefully spotting some yellow footed rock wallabies. Your driver and guide knows all the great places for the best photos. Lunch is at the Prairie Hotel, before you return to Rawnsley Park via the old copper mining town of Blinman.
On day 5, it is time to say goodbye as you head back to Adelaide or on to new adventures. Be sure to ask our reception team for recommendations on where to stop depending on where your journey is taking you next.
